Putin ordered to work out another agreement with Uzbekistan in the field of military-technical cooperation

President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to hold talks with the Uzbek side on signing an agreement on the order of control over the targeted use of military products supplied to Uzbekistan.

The relevant order of the head of state was published on Friday at the official portal of legal information, TASS reports.

"To accept the proposal of the Government of the Russian Federation to negotiate an agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan on the procedure for monitoring the availability and targeted use of military products supplied under the Treaty between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan on the development of military-technical cooperation of November 29, 2016" , the document says.

Upon completion of the talks, the Russian government was instructed to take a decision on signing this agreement.

The agreement on the development of military-technical cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan was signed in Moscow on November 29, 2016. It determines the procedure for mutual deliveries of military products, establishing a favorable regime for cooperation in the development, production, operation, repair, modernization and utilization of weapons and military equipment.

It is envisaged that the state-supplier of military products has the right to monitor its availability and targeted use (the order of which will be determined by a separate agreement), and the other party to the contract, respectively, must provide the necessary conditions for such control.
