Uzbek delegation headed by the Foreign Minister, Abdulaziz Kamilov, met with US Deputy State Secretary, Heather Higginbottom, on Wednesday in Washington. They discussed the meeting in the format C5 + 1, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan reports.
"During the meeting it was noted that the meeting C5 + 1, which took place in Samarkand in November 2015, opened up a discussion on a wide range of issues of bilateral relations and allowed to exchange views on international and regional agenda,” stated the Ministry report.
A day earlier, Abdulaziz Kamilov held the sixth round of Uzbek-US political consultations in Washington. During a meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Nishoy Desai Bisval, he exchanged views on topical issues of the bilateral agenda.
The results of the cooperation for the period after the fifth round of political consultations in December 2014 in Tashkent were summarised and prospects of cooperation in political, trade-economic, cultural, humanitarian fields were discussed. Special attention was paid to the development of the situation in Afghanistan and regional issues.
