Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan will enhance cooperation within A-WEB

Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan and the National Electoral Commission of the Republic of Korea signed a memorandum of cooperationon February 2, 2016  in Tashkent, the press service of the Central Election Commission reports. 

On Tuesday, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Republic of Uzbekistan, M. Abdusalomov,had a meeting with the delegation headed by the Secretary General of the Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) and the National Electoral Commission of the Republic of Korea, Kim Young-Hee.

Following the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation between Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan and the National Electoral Commission of the Republic of Korea within the framework of A-WEB was signed.

As noted, the document will serve as the exchange of experience in the field of improvement of the national legislation on elections and electoral practices ,preparation and conduct of elections, implementation of joint activities and projects aimed at the introduction of modern information and communication technologies in the electoral process.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on cooperation of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Electoral Commission of the Republic of Korea within the framework of A-WEB.

Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan is a member of A-WEB, which was formed as an international organization in October 2013, with its headquarters in Incheon (South Korea). It currently brings together 106 electoral bodies from 102 countries.
