Uzbekistan has adopted the Employment Program for 2017. The document outlines in detail the issues of employment in the coming year.
The Program was adopted October 28, 2016 at a meeting of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.
The Program was developed taking into account the real situation on the labor market in the regions and cities, the growth factors of potential unemployment in some regions, which require additional measures to increase job creation and maintenance of employment, including in the field of entrepreneurship.
The adopted Program envisages the provision of employment in the following areas:
First, employment in permanent jobs in the amount of 389.3 thousand people, including through the creation of new jobs - only 345.3 thousand, 131.1 thousand of which - in industry, 69.5 thousand - in the service sector, 55.8 thousand - in agriculture, 88.9 thousand - in the construction and infrastructure projects, as well as 44.0 thousand as a result of the recovery of inactive companies, the transfer of state property for rent.
Secondly, employment of 97.7 thousand people in the sphere of individual entrepreneurship, including through commercial bank loans.
Thirdly, the involvement of the population in the implementation of seasonal and temporary jobs in agriculture, agro-processing, construction, particularly in the cotton-growing, grain growing, silkworm breeding, construction of housing on standard projects, as well as production facilities, including a roadside, social and market infrastructure, which will provide employment to 199.1 thousand people on an annualized basis.
Fourth, the development of self-employment in the private subsidiary plots and farms, craftsmanship and family business that will contribute to the employment of 308.6 thousand people, mainly women, the disabled and other socially vulnerable categories of the population.Special attention within the implementation of the Program is given to the employment of unoccupied population, more than 500 thousand graduates of colleges, universities and others.
