Azerbaijani literature in Uzbek

The presentation of the project "Azerbaijani literature in the Uzbek language" was held at the Presidential Library under the Office of the President of Azerbaijan.

It should be noted that the project is being implemented for four years by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan and the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev. Within the framework of the project, the translation and publication of works of Azerbaijani literature into the Uzbek language was organized.

At the opening ceremony, the director of the Presidential Library of Azerbaijan, Mail Ahmedov, stressed that this project is another manifestation of close cultural, public and literary ties between our countries. He also noted: "Between the Azerbaijani and Uzbek peoples there are long-standing cultural and literary ties, rooted in the depths of history. And at the end of the 20th century, when our countries once again reached Independence, these relations, developing, increased to a high level of strategic cooperation. The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan and the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Tashkent carry out numerous activities and projects that serve to strengthen bilateral relations."

The director of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan Samir Abbasov told about the presented books and projects: “In 2016 the book "Features of modern Uzbek and Azerbaijani poetry" by Saodat Mukhamedova was published. The book gives examples of translating works of Azerbaijani poets into Uzbek and works of Uzbek poets into Azerbaijani. Among other books - "Uzbek-Azerbaijani and Azerbaijani-Uzbek Phrasebook", selected works of the People's Writer of Azerbaijan Anar in the collection "I, You, He and Phone" in the translation of the national writer of Uzbekistan Jamal Kamal, five works from "Khamsa" of the great poet Nizami Ganjavi and about ten other publications enjoying great interest among the population”.

The participants of the presentation were unanimous in their opinion that the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan and the Azerbaijani Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev, contribute to further strengthening of bilateral relations between our countries.
