FSUE "TsENKI" (Spaceports Russia) completed the formation of the register of tour operators for cooperation on the project for the development of ground-based space tourism at the cosmodromes "Baikonur" and "Eastern", said the state corporation "Roscosmos".
"More than 40 tour operators will get the opportunity to organize tourist trips to the cosmodrome "Baikonur"and "Eastern": 26 tour operators from Russia, 7 - from Kazakhstan and one tour operator from Uzbekistan," said in a statement.
As noted, the development of ground-based space tourism will contribute to the promotion of space and increased interest of the industry as a whole. The report notes that the travel companies, that are not included in the register will not be able to organize trips to the cosmodromes.
"Baikonur" cosmodrome is located in Kazakhstan in Kyzylorda region. Preparatory construction work at the cosmodrome "Eastern" in the Far East, in the Amur region (Russia) should be completed this year. The first launch is scheduled for April 25, 2016.
