This was noted out by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during the meeting with a group of prosecutors on January 7, 2017 on the eve of the Day of Workers of the Prosecutor’s Office.
He stressed that the prosecution authorities should have a high reputation in the rule of law in society, in building the law-governed state, serve the protection of the rights of businesses and individuals, raising the legal culture of the population.
This will contribute to the improvement of organizational and legal mechanisms of the parliamentary control over the activity of the prosecution agencies. Joint resolution of the Councils of the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan provides for the formation of the Commission of the Senate to monitor the activities of the prosecution. The Commission is tasked with the implementation of the system parliamentary control over the activity of the prosecution agencies.
Currently, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis hears the annual report of the Attorney General. Starting from this year, the system will be introduced of public reporting of heads of administrations of all levels, heads of prosecution and internal affairs agencies. In addition, the regions will draw monthly ranking of prosecutors’ activities. Their work will be judged on the basis of the indicators of this ranking.
“In the Year of Dialogue with the People and Human Interests the prosecution agencies’ employees face very important tasks. Each application should be considered,” said the President of Uzbekistan.
