Security of tourists in Uzbekistan will be strengthened

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the concept of safe tourism in the cities of Bukhara, Samarkand, Khiva and Shakhrisabz and the program for its implementation for 2017-2020.

It presupposes the improvement of the structure and methods of organizing the activities of the internal affairs bodies to ensure safe tourism. So the situation centers will operate in the Department of Internal Affairs of Bukhara, Samarkand, Khorezm and Kashkadarya regions. Their tasks: monitoring the state of safe tourism, informing tourists about potential threats in real time, and also helping to protect their rights and legitimate interests.

In the listed regional police departments are established to ensure safe tourism. Their chiefs are simultaneously deputy chiefs of the Internal Affairs Directorate, and personnel are formed by a competition of employees, primarily those who speak foreign languages.
Another direction of the concept was to ensure the safety of tourists during the period of arrival, use of transport and transportation. In particular, it is planned to create a unified information database of state and non-state objects (organizations) providing services in the tourist sphere and keeping a record of incoming tourists.

It also provides for the development of mobile applications with information on the rules of stay, visa and registration procedures, the nearest attractions and other useful information.

The third direction is to ensure the safety of places of residence, accommodation and tourist services. For this purpose, the electronic information system

"E-mehmon" will be introduced into the activity of each hotel, which will allow to create a database of arriving tourists. The entrances of the hotels will be monitored 24 hours a day.

In addition, they will implement a single hardware and software complex "Safe Tourism". This system of video surveillance, analysis and automated processing of information, the reception and registration of reports of violations and incidents in the cities of Bukhara, Samarkand, Khiva and Shakhrisabz.

And, finally, the fourth direction is to ensure the safety of tourists, official foreign delegations when visiting tourist attractions and organizing evening leisure. Among other things, the development of requirements and the installation of special technical means for individual protection of tourists are planned.
