Voter Turnout Reached 67.8 Percent by 3 PM

According to the CEC data, by 3 PM the voter turnout in the presidential elections reached 67.82 percent. The elections are found valid, though the voting in polling stations continues.

By this time, almost 14 million people have already cast their votes for their candidates. The heavy polling is recorded in Samarqand region – 73.19 percent, and the light polling in Namangan region – 63.86 percent.

“The elections in Uzbekistan are monitored by 73 observers from the CIS,” says the Chairman of the Executive Committee, Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergey Lebedev. “While observing the polling stations we have seen how active the voters. Local election commissions are working without violations.”
