Over 15 Million 730 Thousand People Voted by 5 PM

The presidential elections continue in Uzbekistan, and by 5 PM Tashkent time almost 16 million people have already voted for their candidate, or 77% of total number of voters.

This was informed in the briefing organized for international observers, and representatives of domestic and foreign media at the Republican Press Center for the coverage of the presidential elections in Uzbekistan.

The chairman of the Central Election Commission Mirzo-Ulughbek Abdusalomov informed the voting in the polling sites at the mission of Uzbekistan in Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, Malaysia and Singapore had been completed.

The polling sites in the representatives of Uzbekistan in India, the UAE, Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, Russia and European countries, as well as neighboring countries continue their work. The polling stations in the United States have already been opened.

Representatives of international organizations and foreign countries, as well as observers from political parties monitor the voting process in all polling stations.

The elections are taking place in compliance with the democratic principles provided by the Constitution of the republic of Uzbekistan, the Law On Elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and other electoral legislation norms.
