It was attended by members of district electoral commissions on elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of political parties participating in the elections, and the media.
As part of the agenda of the meeting, chaired by the chairman of the Central Election Commission Mirzo-Ulughbek Abdusalomov, the participants considered the issues concerning the creation of polling stations for the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the representative missions of Uzbekistan in foreign countries, as well as other issues related to the preparations for the elections.
In accordance with Article 11 of the Law ‘On Elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan’ the polling station at the missions in the foreign countries are created by the Central Election Commission at the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In this regard, the Central Election Commission, having considered the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the creation of polling stations at the missions of the Republic of Uzbekistan in foreign countries, adopted a resolution on the creation of 44 polling stations on the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and register them to the 14th Tashkent city election district.
The meeting participants decided on the creation under the Central Election Commission of the working groups to certify the correctness of the signature lists submitted by political parties.
The Commission considered the issue of accreditation of representatives of mass media. It was emphasized that the media play an important role in ensuring the openness and transparency of preparation and conduct of the electoral process, the timely provision of information to the public about all stages of the election campaign.
