Kovrein's view: "Masterpieces of Islamic Architecture of Uzbekistan"

Vladimir Kovrein presented his personal photo exhibition "Masterpieces of Islamic Architecture of Uzbekistan" in the "French Alliance" in Tashkent.

The last two years, Vladimir Kovrein was completely fascinated with the shooting of masterpieces of Islamic architecture of Uzbekistan, which is devoted to this exhibition.

At the opening of the exhibition many people and colleagues of Vladimir Nikolayevich came and immediately they rushed to these his works, from which, frankly speaking, it's quite difficult to tear ourselves away. And all this is filmed in Samarkand, where the masterpieces of Islamic architecture have risen for centuries. Photographs taken at the famous Registan Square, Gur Emir, Shahi Zinda, Tillya-Kari, Afrosiab and other ancient monuments show them quite differently than we usually used to see them.

The exhibition has several sections and each of them has an article that reveals the features of the creative manner of Vladimir Kovrein and helps to delve into the essence of the photos presented. Their author is Dr. Baktiyar Babadjanov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, leading researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. Answering our questions, he told the following:

Before the opening of the exhibition, Vladimir Nikolaevich said: "When I was shooting for the exhibition, I saw these monuments in a completely different way, different from before, namely in the form of masterpieces of Islamic architecture of Uzbekistan, which so delight many people in the world. I set myself the task of revealing this theme as fully as possible and deeper through my photographs."
