"Victory is one for all": participants of the rally in Samarkand

Participants of the rally in honor of the 73rd anniversary of the Victory in the Second World War, which started in the Russian city of Nizhnevartovsk and passing under the slogan "Victory is one for all", stayed in Samarkand.

Participants of the event, organized by the Youth Parliament at the Duma of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Region of the Russian Federation, drove on the GAZ-M-20 Pobeda cars of 1946-1958 on the roads of cities and villages of Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and arrived in our country.

Participants of the rally visited the Hazrati Khizr complex in Samarkand and the mausoleum of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov. Then they laid wreaths at the foot of the monument of the Sorrowful Mother in Memory Square, remembered those killed in the Second World War. Guests from Russia met with war veterans living in Samarkand, youth and members of the public.

Participants of the Second World War Samarkand citizens E. Soldatov and M. Kolmogorov shared their front-line memories, told about their activities in the post-war years. They urged young people to appreciate today's peaceful life and protect it.
"The rally is organized to recall those who stayed on the battlefields of the Second World War, to recall the immense feat of our veterans, to glorify those who are still with us today," said Igor Ilik, the technical head of the motor rally. "There was more sacrifice in this terrible war than in any other war in the history of mankind." From Uzbekistan, too, more than 1.5 million people participated in this war. Their contribution to the Great Victory is considerable. In commemoration of the 73rd anniversary of our common victory, a documentary film about meetings, events that take place during this rally.

The guests got acquainted with the historical, cultural, architectural monuments of Samarkand.
