The State Committee of Uzbekistan on Statistics has announced a new demographic data.
The resident population of Uzbekistan as of July 1 totaled 31,807 million people, increasing from the beginning of the year to 231,700 people, or by 0.7 per cent.
The urban population reached 16,11 million (50.6 per cent of the total population), the rural population - 15,697 million (49.4 per cent).
In January-June, 318,000 children were born in the country.
The mortality rate for the six months amounted to 73.9 thousand people. Of the total number of registered deaths, 59.7 per cent died of cardiovascular diseases, 8.6 per cent from cancer, 5.5 per cent from digestive diseases, 6.3 per cent from respiratory diseases, 5.6 per cent in accidents, from poisonings and injuries.
Within six months of 2016, the Registry Offices registered 92.4 thousand marriages and 14.8 thousand divorces.
The number of those arrived in January-June reached 72,000 people, left – 84,400, and balance of migration made minus 12,400 (in the first half of 2015 - minus 13,400).
