"Uzbekistan in the period from 1993 to 2008 was an active participant in the International Military Sports Council and reached high places in the tournament Military World Games. For example, you can note the performance of Uzbek military athletes at the IV All-Army Games, which took place in the Indian city of Hyderabad. Then the athletes in the team event won the 7th place among 101 participating countries. Of course, this was a great achievement for a young country," the Secretary General said.
According to him, for some reason since 2008, mutual relations have ceased between Uzbekistan and the International Military Sports Council. Therefore, one of the main goals of the visit to Uzbekistan, Dorah Mambi Koita noted, is the restoration of ties between the organization and the republic, which will allow Uzbek military athletes to again compete in the international sports arena.
"Of course, these relations will be fruitful for both sides. In the next year our council plans to hold 21 international sports competitions, I am confident that at these tournaments we will see the skills of Uzbek military athletes," Dorah Mambi Koita stressed.
It should be reminded that the International Military Sports Council (IMSC) - one of the largest interdisciplinary sports organizations in the world. Currently, it is considered the most influential sports organization in the world after the International Olympic Committee. IMSC is the organizer of a number of important international sports events, including Military World Games and the World Military Cup.
