"TEFI-Commonwealth" in terms of its prestige is not inferior to other large festivals dedicated to this sphere held in the world. The International Television Festival was founded in 2011 and is stimulated from the very beginning by the Humanitarian Cooperation Foundation of the CIS member states and the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications of Russia.
Every year in one of the CIS countries this festival is held, the purpose of which is the formation of a common information space of the Commonwealth countries. The theme of the festival is diverse. Within the framework of the "TEFI-Commonwealth" a council of experts is formed, with the participation of experienced specialists in the sphere, master classes are held, current problems of modern television, creative work are discussed, and conversations are organized. After the festival the winners are awarded special prizes.
At the TEFI-Commonwealth-2017 festival held in Minsk last year, the documentary film "Speed of the Quarter Century: Surkhandarya" by the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan was awarded with high recognition.
Currently, the "Academy of Russian Television" Foundation together with partners from Uzbekistan has begun work on preparing for the festival. The deadline for submitting creative works to "TEFI-Commonwealth-2018" has been completed. This year, the theme of the festival will be "Motherland's image: time, place, fate."
"When choosing the theme of the festival, we take into account the national identity of the peoples of the CIS, the interests of the participants," said Eteri Levieva, director of the “Academy of Russian Television” Foundation. - For example, the themes of past festivals "TEFI-Commonwealth" were devoted to information TV programs, children's television, music and entertainment programs. The theme of the festival this year is aimed at the cohesion of the Commonwealth. We hope that creative works prepared by professional television workers will be interesting for viewers.
In recent years, relations between Uzbekistan and Russia have been strengthening. The cooperation of our countries in various spheres is developing, including
in the field of the media. The upcoming TEFI-Commonwealth festival in our country will not only be a creative platform for discussing innovations in the sphere, sharing experiences for creative people, but will also contribute to strengthening the friendly relations of our countries.
