Today, the first group of 230 pilgrims left to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) via Uzbekistan Airways, to carry out a small pilgrimage - Umrah, the press service of the Committee for Religious Affairs under the Government reports.
The total number of our countrymen who will visit Muslim shrines this year will be about 5,500 people. Each group of pilgrims in the spring season of the pilgrimage will be in Saudi Arabia for 10 days.
Our pilgrims will spend 4 days in Medina, 150 meters from the shrine. In this city, they will visit the Mosque of the Prophet Muhammad, his grave and other Islamic historical sites. Afterwards the pilgrims will move to Mecca for the main pilgrimage - Umrah.
8 people from security, 27 doctors and 8 chefs will provide services to our fellow citizens on the ground.
