According to the press service of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, construction of a new building of Jurabek Mosque has been started in Tashkent. This building was affected by fire last year.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by the chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan Usman Alimov and the head of the Religious Affairs Committee Muhammadbobur Yuldashev. The construction will be carried out on the basis of a new project. Capacity of the mosque is 650 followers.
On April 26 last year there was a fire in the mosque located near Risoviy market in Tashkent. According to the official version, the cause of the fire was short-circuit of electrical wires broken by tree limbs fallen because of a strong wind. There were no injured in the fire.
