This ratio is sufficient for the organization of all health care services at the proper level. Therefore, the Uzbek Cabinet of Ministers ordered the Ministry of Health to maintain this ratio of doctors.
The new regulations on the procedure for determining the quota for admission to higher medical educational institutions,will ensure the fulfillment of the above ratio.
The needs of all medical institutions of the country, regardless of their form of ownership, will be taken into account, explained in the Ministry of Health. Proposals are formulated, taking into account the medical posts in the medical organizations, forecasts fordemand for medical personnel with undergraduate degree, for the next 4-7 years and the need for medical personnel with Masters degrees for the next 2-3 years.
Medical organizations must submit a report about the need for medical personnel to the Ministry of Health annually. At the same time, private medical organizations will request medical personnel at their discretion. Employment of graduates should be ensured. There are more than 30 million people living in Uzbekistan today, and there are about 72 thousand doctors of various specialties, employed at hospitals and clinics.
