The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan has revised the situation with the quantity of beds in central district and city hospitals. This provides solving the issue concerning the shortage of beds.
The Regulations are approved on calculation of beds to the normative method considering the number and sickness rate of the population in service. The regulation will not be put into action far and wide right away. The first trials take place in Bukhara, Samarqand and Tashkent regions.
Limiting norms have been determined providing the organization of independent specialized units. Thus, surgery, ophthalmology, genecology, and other units will be opened in case they have at least 15 beds, while therapy, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, children’s, and isolation units should have at least 20 beds.
However, beds in each unit should not exceed 40. In case the quantity of beds will exceed 40, the opening of two or more units is acceptable.
