Vascular pathology in Uzbekistan is one of the most common causes of hospitalization by the first aid line. Republican scientific center of emergency medicine in the country is a leader in the introduction of advanced technologies in this field.
An important step in the development of the center was the introduction of a cardiac surgery in 2010. Currently, the Department of Vascular Surgery and Cardiac Surgery with microsurgery carry out more than 100 complex operations annually. Here, the bypass surgery with the imposition of seven shunts on a beating heart was conducted for the first time in Uzbekistan. There are simultaneous operations on the heart and blood vessels of the neck, combined bypass surgery and plastic ventricular aneurysms, surgery on the heart valves, emergency intervention when there is a threat of rupture of the abdominal aorta.
A wide arsenal of diagnostic equipment, including mandatory Doppler sonography, computed tomography with 3D-modeling, magnetic resonance imaging and angiography of brain vessels, promotes timely and accurate detection of various diseases and conditions associated with cerebral vessels.
The Republican Center constantly works on introduction of new technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of blood vessels. Particularly in recent years, it has been introduced MRI cholangiography, renal angiography and stenting of carotid arteries, vessels of the upper and lower vena cava.
