The ambulance service ‘103’ serves more than 6 million calls nationwide every day. This was discussed today at the 3rd Congress of Emergency Care Doctors.
Most cases of calls end up with hospitalization. To date, the hospital of emergency medical services deployed 8324 beds, representing 8% of all health care beds. Despite the relatively low number of places, they serve 16% of all inpatients treated in the health system of the country.
These figures are interesting not only as an indicator of the intensity of activity of service, but also they provide further evidence of affordability of emergency medicine, where patients receive quality and timely medical-diagnostic help, according to Abduhakim Hodjibaev, General Director of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Aid.
There is emergency assistance, available during 24 hours a day, in areas such as emergency medicine and abdominal surgery, vascular surgery, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, combined traumas, urology, gynecology, emergency treatment and cardiology, neurology, pediatrics, pediatric abdominal surgery and pediatric traumatology.
The Republican Centre and its regional branches are constantly improving the quality of care. Every year, about 100 people in the 35-40 foreign delegations representing more than 15 countries visit the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Aid. Master classes, workshops and lectures with the participation of foreign colleagues, demonstration surgeries in cooperation with foreign experts are conducted.
