The country needs technical personnel. The Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education has been addressed these questions for several years.
This is evidenced by changes in the quota of admission to professional colleges and higher educational institutions.
However, analysis of the documents filed by applicants suggests that technical professions is still not so popular among young people.
The Ministry of Public Education knows about the problem and takes an active part in its solution. In particular, "Barkamol Avlod" centers and technical creativity groups have developed in the recent years. However, involvement children in these groups proved to be quite tricky, dances, sports clubs etc. are more popular. Experts tell about the need to create an entire infrastructure that would facilitate promotion of technical professions, in which an important role will play not only educational institutions.
We can see today how the situation began to change. Tashkent Polytechnical Museum has involved in the work one of the first. A special program of master classes has been implemented here since March 15.
- While launching this project we expect to become more interesting and useful to our young visitors - says the press-secretary of Tashkent Polytechnical Museum, Tamara Yakubova. - In general, most of the exposure in our museum, the entire second floor, is designed for schoolchildren. Its aim is to facilitate them mastering the curriculum in physics and mathematics. In addition, we began to hold workshops so that our visitors can not only get acquainted with the exposition, but also to try to do something themselves.
Almost until the end of March the program of the museum will include workshops on aeromodelling, computer graphics, design, beading, pottery art, robotics, painting, applique, jewelry.
The museum has cooperated with the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, "Barkamol Avlod" the Republican Center of Children's technical and artistic creativity, Art Bureau "Kolibri", and design and fashion school of Olga Yaikova to carry out these activities.
- We do not cooperate with the specialists who are engaged in technical education on a professional basis accidentally - Tamara Yakubova accentuated. - If a child turns on the heat, he can immediately get an answer where he can continue to engage in the area on a regular basis.
Scientific and educational activity of our museum is quite versatile. For example, the open lesson dedicated to the 17th anniversary of "Samavto" and the interactive seminar dedicated to the birthday "Uzavto" passed on March 16 and on March 17 for the students of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent and Tashkent Road Institute specializing in mechanical engineering.
This week has also its own research program. Interactive workshop dedicated to the birthday of Mirzo Ulugbek will be held on March 22. All who have come this day will be able to learn more about the life and work of this outstanding scientist. Organizers promise a meeting with the actors of the National Academic Drama Theatre of Uzbekistan involved in the play dedicated to Mirzo Ulugbek.
In general, it is all done to show for pupils and students of academic lyceums and professional colleges that technical work, construction are interesting, and to help them to make their choice.
