The school year in the schools of Uzbekistan has become longer

The length of the school year for schoolchildren increased from 33 weeks to 34. Other time parameters of the school year for schoolchildren were changed. At the same time, the duration of autumn and spring vacations decreased. Special terms are preserved for first-graders, but they are also adjusted.

The duration of autumn vacations decreased from 8 to 6 days, spring - from 10 to
7 days, but winter ones increased from 11 to 14 days.

As before, special terms for the duration of the school year are set for first-graders, but they are also changed. The duration of the school year for them increased from 30 to 33 weeks, and they still have additional vacations in February.

These changes occurred in connection with the approval by the Cabinet of Ministers of a new Regulation on general secondary education.

In addition, the six-day duration of the school week has now been strictly established, before it could be reduced to five days by the decision of the teachers' council. Now the corresponding decision can be made only with respect to the first classes.

Also, the duration of classes is fixed for all schools, it is 45 minutes, and the duration of the breaks is 5-10 minutes.
