Sizes of written works of interim control of the University students have been established. At 1 year the size should be at least 1000 words, at 2 year – 1500 word; at 3 year – 2000 words; at 4 year - 2 500 words. The size of the work of the graduate students should be at least 3 000 words.
Interim control - is a method of knowledge and practical skills of students assessment after the relevant section of the training program module is completed. It is carried out for all modules once per semester in the form of written work. Interim control is a part of students' knowledge assessment system for module, which also includes current and final control.
It is established by the Regulations on for control and criteria procedure of students' knowledge assessment at the Tashkent State Law University in conditions of modular training system. The Ministry Higher and Secondary Special Education and the Ministry of Justice have approved the special system of knowledge evaluation for the Tashkent State Law University in connection with the fact that the last year the university was the first, among the state universities of the country, which has passed into modular training system.
Module – is a single academic discipline (or its part) including educational and vocational aspects, digestion of which is completed with the relevant type of knowledge control.
Current control – is a method of determination and assessment of knowledge and practical skills of a student in module topics. Based on the content of a module, related topics of one semester are combined by the Department in no more than three blocks. Current control in each block is carried out at seminars, practical and laboratory classes. On the last day of teaching of a block teacher sums up and scores students.
Final control – is a method of assessment of theoretical knowledge and practical skills of a student in a particular module. It is held at the end of semester in the form of a written examination.
Student’s performance in each module is determined on a 100-point scale based on the rating system of knowledge, skills and abilities of students evaluation. Points are distributed as follows: current control - 30; interim control - 20; final control - 50 points.
Overall student semester (year) rating is determined by summing the ranking points earned for all modules.
