The 49th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad has taken place in Yerevan, Armenia. The event got involved 95 young chemists from 15 countries. Uzbekistan’s students partaken in the Olympiad showed rather high results grabbing one silver and three bronze medals.
The International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad is organized by the Moscow State University with the aim to popularize chemistry among young people. Uzbekistan has been participating in the competition since 1997. This year, four of our young people represented the country, and all of them received medals. Students at the Tashkent medical Academy Farruh Lutfullaev and Shokhruh Shoanvarov won silver and bronze medals. Dilnora Yusupalieva and Sarvar Shoyunusov, students at the academic lyceum #1 under the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute became bronze medalists.
Prize winners of the International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad have got the right to enroll in higher education institution with chemistry direction out-of-competition. Shokhruh Shoanvarov and Dilnora Yusupalieva could use this right this year as they are graduating students.
