The Uzbek government has approved an action plan aimed at reforming and further developing the national cinematography, which provides the establishment of a new cinema concern.
Process of formulation of proposals on the matter has already begun. The document also provides the creation of a unified ticket system for organizations engaged in rendering cinema and video services and the Fund of State Films of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In addition, the government commissions by the end of October of this year to develop a bill ‘On cinematography’, and state program ‘On the improvement and increase of effectiveness of activity, as well as modernization, technical and technological re-equipment of NA Uzbekkino.’
Within the government decision there will be introduced amendments and additions to the statute, structure, tasks and functions of NA Uzbekkino. In order to support cinema figures and honing their skills it is projected to organize exchange of experience with leading foreign education institutions of the sphere, conduct online training courses, and others.
NA Uzbekkino in conjunction with public authorities study the conditions in cinema halls in cities and districts of the country, and basing on the results prepare the action plan that will ensure effective operation of cinema halls, and creation of at least one state cinema hall in each region of the country.
