As part of its international tour the American vocal ensemble The Exchange will present its concert in Uzbekistan from April 5 to 11, – the press service of the US Embassy in Tashkent reports.
The Exchange consists of five singers, each with its own distinctive voice and style. The band performs without instrumental accompaniment, combining such diverse areas as rhythm and blues, rock, gospel, opera, and hip-hop. The band’s sound is characterized by heartfelt power of human voice.
The American band will hold master classes at music colleges in Tashkent and Samarkand. They will also communicate with the young music lovers at the National Library of Uzbekistan. The Exchange will perform at the scene of the Uzbek Conservatory along with the head of a jazz band and Uzbek star Mansour Tashmatov on April 8. They will give a concert at Turkistan Palace in Tashkent on April 9.
The band tour is part of the US Department of State program. This international cultural exchange program "American Music Abroad" was created to represent a rich and diverse musical heritage of American culture on the world music scene. The visit of The Exchange is organized in the framework of the international jazz festival in Uzbekistan, which was held under UNESCO auspices.
