Unlike last year, this year the Contest for Young Filmmakers of Short Films is open not only for university students but all interested persons as well.
The country needs new short films about the world around us, centuries-old traditions and customs of our people, as well as films raising urgent social issues. And most importantly the country needs young talented authors who will be able to shoot not one or two films.
This year, the opportunity to demonstrate their creative talents has got not only the students of the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan and other education institutions that train personnel for the film industry. Many different hobby clubs and study groups operate to date across the country, and practically all film and television studios are open for cooperation. That is why this year the organizers of the contest - the Uzbekkino Agency and the Public Youth Movement Kamolot have lifted some restrictions. Today, the main criterion is that the authors should be aged up to 35, and the film must be submitted on DVD or AVI format.
The organizing committee believes that by the end of the submission period – October 1, 2016, they receive many works.
Winners will be announced in the following nominations: Best Short Feature Film, Best Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Photography.
