University rector A. Marakhimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan D. Sydykov, First Deputy Chairman of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan S. Sayyid and others particularly noted that Chingiz Aitmatov is a great writer who made a great contribution to further strengthening ties of friendship between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The literary connections and strong ties of friendship that connected the writer with such representatives of Uzbek literature as Mirtemir, Pirimkul Kadyrov, Odil Yakubov, Abdulla Aripov, are a vivid example for today's generation.
The writer's artistic journalism has been translated into Uzbek with great skill. In particular, such his works as "Jamilya", "My poplar in a red kerchief", "The First Teacher", "Mother's Grassfield", "Farewell, Gyulsary!", "The White Steamship", "Piebald Dog Running the Edge of the Sea" , "And more than a century lasts a day," "Scaffold" became the favorite works of Uzbek readers.
