Speaking at the solemn event, acting director of the National Museum Zhaken Taimagambetov noted the long close cultural ties between the two countries: "Everyone knows that the National Museum respects the culture of all mankind with great respect. On our site there were exhibitions of many famous artists and sculptors from around the world. And today we are opening a special exhibition, because Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are related countries. We have long historical and cultural ties. We intend to further develop these ties."
As reported by KAZINFORM, the exhibition presents more than 60 paintings of Uzbekistan’s contemporary artists of ІІ half of the XX - early XXI centuries. This is a synthesis of the traditions of national art with the tradition of European postmodernism and Uzbekistan painting of the 20-30s of the last century, the so-called "Uzbek avant-garde".
The genre paintings of contemporary Uzbek masters reflect specific historical events, life phenomena and their philosophical comprehension.
