A training seminar ‘Management of the Biennale’ is taking place in the Tashkent House of Photography. The capital is preparing to host the 8th international exhibition of this format. The practice of creating exhibition grounds in the format of the Biennale in the CIS was first mastered by Uzbekistan.
The eighth Biennale was to be held this year, but will only take place in the next. The organizers took time out to fundamentally change the content and organizational mechanisms for the Biennale taking into account current technology.
To date, the Biennale management has started to work. A first step was the preparation of experts - curators. The training seminar is organized by the Goethe Institute in Tashkent. Training course for young and promising exhibition event-managers is conducted by Barbara Heinrich, art expert from Berlin. The training participants consider a wide range of issues from the ideas and concepts to the legal environment of artistic and cultural marketing, from sponsorship to intricacies of creating exhibition and organizational processes. The experience of Venice, Sao Paulo, and Sydney will be examined thoroughly.
Biennale 2016 will be held under the title ‘Expanding the Boundaries, Uniting the World.’
