Ikuo Hirayama International Caravansarai of Culture of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan opens a solo exhibition of Leonid Markin timed to the Year of Attention and Care for the Senior Generation.
Member of the Crative Association of Painters of the Arts Academy, participant of republican and international exhibitions, poster and graphic artist, and painter he recently has celebrated his 80th jubilee. His works are wonderful, very diverse in plots and techniques. Markin’s sculpture miniatures on stones are particular.
“I always was inquisitive and loved traveling,” says the painter, “and thus many of my works reflect the beauty of the home country and far lands. Watching the films on Greenland I did love its nature, so created several more paintings with polar bears. I also drew paintings about China. The country’s history is of my special interest. I created a portrait of Amir Temur after reading a literature about this great forefather.
Currently, I work on a canvas, which will reflect the continuity of generations – from the period of ruling of Mirzo Ulughbek to the present day.
I also like drawing flowers and stilllifes. I do like Eastern fairytales, and draw personages from them.”
