Seven days, nearly 450 participants, 10 directions, and 57 nominations: the results are summed up of one of the major contests organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Uzbekistan.
Held every two years the Republican Contest among students of culture and art colleges and music lyceums involves only the strongest contenders.
The participants competed in such categories as wind, percussion, string and folk instruments, academic performance, traditional and folklore performance, pop, dance, and drama arts.
“I have prepared for the contest with the help of my teacher for almost six months,” says the first prize winner in the category ‘Classical dance’ Hajimukhan Zhalgazbaev from Nukus, Karakalpakstan. “A good incentive for all participants was the fact that the winners receive the right to enter a university without entrance examinations.
