A forum entitled “Uzbek women’s golden hands” has been conducted in Qibray District for the purpose of further expanding women’s participation in large-scale reforms being implemented in the country and in the popularization of advanced experience of entrepreneurship.
The event was arranged by the Tashkent Regional hokimiyat (governorate), the regional women’s committee, the regional state tax directorate and the regional department of the Tadbirkor Ayol (businesswoman) association of businesswomen of Uzbekistan. Representatives of small businesses and private enterprises, employees of commercial banks, women entrepreneurs and young people participated in the forum.
S.Fayziyeva, deputy governor of Tashkent Region and chairperson of the regional women’s committee, and others said that the raising of women’s activeness in society and support for their aspirations and initiatives in the sphere of entrepreneurship serve to ensure the steady development of the country’s economy and to increase the people’s wellbeing.
“In the region, more than 8200 women are engaged in entrepreneurship. About one thousand of them are craftswomen, and 700 run farms. The regional department of the association for expanding the ranks of women entrepreneurs effectively conducts such events and provides detailed information about its projects directed towards developing entrepreneurship,” says the chairwoman of the regional department of the Tadbirkor Ayol association of businesswomen of Uzbekistan, M.Qodirkhonova.
At the forum, specialists gave detailed answers to questions from young people desiring to start entrepreneurial activities on the drawing up of business plans, the registration of enterprises, procedures for export-import operations and relations with the tax and customs systems.
As part of the forum, an exposition of products made by women entrepreneurs took place.
