“The German Company MAN Truck & Bus is going to use Uzbekistan as their export hub for the markets of Central Asia,” told Jan Kohlmeier, Regional Director of MAN Truck & Bus AG, speaking at the investment forum in Tashkent.
“Our task is to create a center in Uzbekistan that will supply products to all neighboring countries. We already have a dealer network of 20 offices across the region, and it is growing rapidly,” Jan Kohlmeier noted.
MAN believes that the Uzbek side is a strategic partner with great potential, and the company will strengthen its presence in the region as a whole due to the further expansion of the vehicle line at Samarkand Plant.
“During our work in Uzbekistan, the country entered the top ten of our major markets. Samarkand Plant now exports equipment to Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and from September 2015 to Kazakhstan,” Jan Kohlmeier emphasized.
According to him, MAN is ready to organize production of tourist buses in Uzbekistan. It has become known recently that in February 2016 a mass production will start of low-floor urban bus MAN Lion’s CNG.
The company has already prepared the production line. It is planned to produce about 50 buses in the coming year.
The JV MAN Auto Uzbekistan was established in August 2009. 51% of shares are owned by JSC Uzavtosanoat, and 49% by MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG.
