SJSRC ‘Uzbekistan Railways’ has begun the implementation of the second stage of the project on procurement of freight electric locomotives from China’s CNTIC-CNRDLRC Company.
“A contract to procure 11 locomotives of O’ZEL series has already been signed. The first shipment is projected by the end of this year. Locomotives of this type proved to be best in comparison with their analogs,” said the company chief manager-engineer Sherzod Ismatullaev.
O’ZEL locomotive differs considerably from its analogs to external and construction-technical performance. They are produced jointly with the Japanese Toshiba Company in compliance with technical requirements provided by Uzbek railroad specialists.
In tote, by the end of 2020 the SJSRC ‘Uzbekistan Railways’ projects to procure 32 advanced electric locomotives.
