Uzbekistan Railways has transported 15.6 million passengers for 9 months of 2015. There is an increase of 3.8% compared with the same period last year.
According to the company, 50.3 million tons of cargo has been shipped from the railway stations since the beginning of 2015. This figure was increased by 2.6% compared to 2014. In the first nine months of this year, exporting services were provided at amount of $262 million.
According to the investment program, almost 609.2 million of capital investments were mastered in the intervening period. These funds were aimed at the electrification of railway sections ‘Marokand-Karshi’, ‘Karshi-Termez’, the organization of high-speed trains on the Tashkent-Samarkand route, construction the new double-track electrified railway ‘Jizzakh-Yangiyer’.
Part of the funds is directed to the rehabilitation of railways, the renewal and restoring of freight and passenger cars and modernization of locomotives.
The company mastered $302.8 million for construction of the new electrified railway ‘Angren-Pap’, what is 8% more than target. In total, the project should involve investments for $ 348.3 million.
