According to the deputy minister for the development of information technologies and communications, Olimjon Umarov, "the high price of access to the Internet is due to the lack of a competitive environment. Now Uzbekistan is dependent on the northern Internet channel, passing through Kazakhstan and Russia. Now we are working on the issue of organizing another Internet channel through the southern direction - Turkmenistan and Iran, Kyrgyzstan and China," Olimjon Umarov said.
By the end of the year, it is planned to sign agreements on the sale and leasing of channels with national operators of selected countries.
At the same time, according to the deputy minister, the northern direction will also continue to work.
