Board of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan has decided to leave the refinancing rate of the Central Bank unchanged - 9% per annum.
The decision was made on the basis of the tasks defined in the Guidelines for monetary policy for 2016, in particular, on the dynamics of the current level of inflation and its expected performance, as well as the forecast of the main macroeconomic parameters.
Refinancing rate at the level of 9% per annum is kept unchanged from 1 January 2015. Since the beginning of this year it is the third revision of the rates, and each time the decision was made to leave it unchanged.
The refinancing rate varies depending on the inflation rate and acts as a power regulator of economic activity. The high rate makes difficult to obtain loans and restrains thus putting money in the production of goods and services.
