Wagons with Ukrainian confectionery products in transit to Central Asia through Russia are sent back. The decision to suspend the transit was made by Rospotrebnadzor, the Head of Public Relations of the Central Customs Administration of the Federal Customs Service Eekatrina Anchiporova said.
"The transit of confectionery from Ukraine to Central Asia was closed at the initiative of Rospotrebnadzor. We issued our order after their letter. The letter came last week," Russian media quoted Ekaterina Anchiporova.
Transit through the territory of Russia for Ukrainian confectionery products is banned because of the health embargo imposed by Rospotrebnadzor in 2014. Prior to that, it became known that export of Ukrainian candies to Russia fell by 70% in 2015.
