Tashkent Electrical Networks Enterprise plans by the end of 2016 gradually introducing in all districts of the capital automated system of commercial electricity metering (ASCEM).
“Today, 10,476 consumers in Bektemir district are connected to ASCEM. The work gradually begins in other districts of the capital. All work is completed in the fourth quarter of 2016,” said the chief engineer at Tashkent Electrical Networks Enterprise, Dilmurod Saydullaev.
In 2004, the government approved a resolution providing the replacement of outdated electric meters with new, compatible with ASCEM. The system allows automatic disconnection of consumers from the electricity supply in case of the debt. It is impossible to change the scheme in new electric meters in order to illegally adjust the meter figures.
