Kazakhstan is considering the possibility of using alternative routes for deliveries of goods from Ukraine, in particular, the overland route through Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, said the acting Deputy Chairman of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs (NPP) of Kazakhstan, Dana Zhunusova.
According to Zhunusova, they are currently working out the possibility of using alternative routes for deliveries of goods from Ukraine to Kazakhstan.
In particular, they are considering the car route via ferry, following the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea route "Ukraine ( Ilyichevsk ) - Georgia ( Poti / Batumi ) - Azerbaijan (Baku ) - Kazakhstan (Aktau ),” the overland route via Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, and the train route "Ukraine ( Ilyichevsk ) - Georgia ( Poti / Batumi ) - Azerbaijan (Baku ) - Kazakhstan (Aktau )."
From January 1, 2016, Russia introduced a decree on the transit of goods from Ukraine to Kazakhstan, according to which the Ukrainian cargo can be transported through Russian territory only if it was sent from Belarus.
“The list of Kazakh enterprises and importers of Ukrainian goods with their contract details and supply information for transpoprtation through the Federal Customs Service of Russia was created. It is expected that the Kazakh businessmen included in the list in absence of violations of the law EAEC (tax , customs, transport ) will receive a "green corridor", exempting them from the convoy on the way,” said Dana Zhunusova.
It is worth noting that in 2015, Kazakh businessmen carried out 1503 transactions with Ukrainian businessmen.
"Increase in the price of goods from Ukraine is inevitable, but an exact number is impossible to estimate at present, as there is no information on the associated costs with the introduction of a new order of transit of goods. In view of measures taken by Russia against Ukrainian goods, the price of these products on Kazakh market will be burdened by costs for support services, temporary storage and other additional charges and costs associated with the use of alternative routes,” NPP representative said .
