Uzbekistan in the last year imported building materials to $2.213 billion, the majority of which came in the wood and rolled metal products.
“Today, on the basis of the analysis of import more than 15 types of construction materials were identified in the amount of $ 145.5 million, which are imported in significant volumes for the needs of the market,” said the head of the economic analysis department of JSC Uzstroymaterialy, Utkir Turdiev.
However, in 2015-2016 in the field of manufacture of building materials is projected the implementation of more than 2 thousand projects with assimilation of investment in the sum of $773.6 million, and creation of 35 thousand jobs. In accordance with the localization program for 2015-2019, it is intended to introduce the manufacture of over 20 kinds of products. These measures will considerably reduce imports.
According to Turdiev, for the period to March the country implemented 205 projects with assimilation of $ 23.2 million investment, and creation of nearly 2 thousand jobs. Another major project cost of $16,030 million put into operation this year is the production at JSC Uzmetkombinat of thermal insulation materials with capacity of 10 thousand tons.
