"GE" intensified its work in Uzbekistan

On February 15, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the vice-president of the American company "General Electric" Ronald James Pollett, who is in our country on a working visit. This was reported by the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

"General Electric" is one of the leading global multidisciplinary corporations. Its activities today cover such areas as power engineering, mechanical engineering, precision instrument making, electrical engineering, automated control systems, modern medical technologies, the financial sector and many other areas.

The company operates in more than 180 countries around the world, its enterprises employ over 300 thousand people. As a result of last year, the revenues of the American company exceeded $ 120 billion.

During the meeting, it was noted with satisfaction that the activity of "General Electric" in our country has increased.
Currently, a number of priority projects for the modernization of energy infrastructure facilities are being worked out and implemented in Uzbekistan, including the construction of modern combined-cycle plants at the Takhiatash TPP, the second phase of expansion of the Tashkent Thermal Power Plant, the construction of the Pskem HPP, the development of the gas transportation system, as well as joint programs in the field of civil aviation and health.

The head of our state particularly emphasized the importance of further building up a mutually beneficial technological partnership in the energy sector, as well as expanding cooperation in the field of production cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of interaction in the sphere of training highly qualified national personnel, including involving leading foreign specialists and experts.

Ronald James Pollett expressed sincere gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and full support of projects and programs of bilateral cooperation in high-tech industries.
He confirmed the readiness of General Electric to develop long-term and full-scale cooperation with enterprises and organizations of our country.
