Banks Continue to Reduce Tariffs and Ease Restrictions

Another portion of the news came from the Central Bank. Tariffs for rent for payment terminals and issuance of new plastic cards have been reduced, and the amount of one-time banking operations, in which banks are required to take measures for the due diligence of customers, is increased.

Earlier, the rent for terminals for legal entities and individuals amounted to 5 and 2.5 euros, respectively. Under the new tariff plan, the rent for payment terminals was transferred to soums and set at 25 and 15 thousand soums, respectively.

According to the previous tariff plan, when issuing new plastic cards to individuals, instead of lost or damaged cards, an equivalent fee of up to 5 euros was charged, and from legal entities and individual entrepreneurs - up to an equivalent of 10 euros. Now for such services it is recommended to take 10 thousand soums from individuals and 15 thousand soums from legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.

As before, when issuing plastic cards (salary, pension, scholarship and family) for individuals, as well as for blocking and unblocking (including the inclusion in the Stop List), the fee is not charged.

The amendments increased the size of single banking transactions, in the implementation of which banks are obliged to take measures for proper verification of customers. Now the amount equal to or exceeding 500 times the minimum wage (formerly 100 MZPP) will become the basis for proper verification when: individuals sell foreign currency; exchange, replacement and (or) exchange for another foreign currency (conversion) by individuals of cash foreign currency; receipt from clients for collection and (or) examination of cash foreign currency.
